This musical version of Guru Gobind Singh's Jaap Sahib is unlike any other. The Jaap Sahib was composed by Guru Gobind Singh (the 10th and last Sikh Master) in 1685 at the age of 19. "Jaap" means to utter or chant. The Jaap Sahib is comprised of 199 verses, containing 950 descriptive names of the Formless Divine Being. Sometimes it describes God in "negative" terms defining what God is "not". Other times it beautifully exalts the positive attributes of the One. Guru Gobind Singh embodied kindness and courage, meditation and action, and by reading or listening to the Japp Sahib, we can incorporate this energy within ourselves.

The mantra Ajai Alai is part of the Jaap Sahib and is added as a separate track on this CD for special 11 minute meditations. Ajai Alai is a mantra of peace and healing. It has the power to break through all blocks and negativity.

The vocals and musical accompaniment by Sat Nirmal Kaur and Sangeet Kaur will bring ease and joy to learning and singing Jaap Sahib.
